A Manhattan resident for more than 30 years, Mari is one of our more unique City stories. As a longtime personal assistant and copy editor for influential New Yorkers, including Erica Jong, Mari moves easily in social and business circles and has a special knack for making anyone feel at ease.
Mari has always funneled her interest in theater and arts into her career, first starting in stage management and tour assistance for a number of renowned theatres in and around Manhattan and Boston. While this initial success eventually led to her work with notable authors, Mari also expanded her love of the “arts” with showings and sales of New York’s brownstones through the Vandenberg Team.
When she’s not capably treating our buyers and sellers to some of the finest townhouse showings in the area, Mari travels extensively through Europe, the Caribbean and Southeast Asia. She has sailed up the Nile overnight in a felucca, ridden horseback in Colorado to count cattle, camped in a wigwam overnight in Central Park, and walked through fields of landmines with de-mining teams in Cambodia. She’s been to the Wednesday private audience with Pope Benedict, visited Buddhist monasteries in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, and has dined with Communist officials in Vientianne.
